Picketing outsdie the SCDC Offices on 30 November.

Councillor Margaret Morris is District and Town Councillor for Felixstowe’s West Ward.

Picketing outside SCDC OfficesShe supported public service employees on the picket lines at both Suffolk District Council offices and at the Norse depot at Ufford. She joined members of Unison in recognising that there is deep concern across a wide range of Unions about the Tory-led Government’s changes to public sector pensions.

Margaret believes that we should not be reducing public sector workers’ pensions. Rather, we should be working to increase the private sector’s pensions up to a level that ensures a decent standard of living in retirement for everyone.

Margaret joined other Suffolk Coastal CLP members at midday, in the march through Ipswich organised by public sector unions. More than 1200 people participated in this demonstration of support for the campaign to protect the pensions of workers in the public sector.
